Overwhelm. We make things hard in our minds. We make the time commitment, the energy output, the process of exercising a mountain. It doesn't have to be.
We create stories of struggle. The things we "have to" do that are time constraints, energy sucks ("I'd have to put on the clothes (ugh), drive ALL the way to the gym, figure out what to do...") and overall motivation killers ("I don't FEEL like it!"). The truth is, often it is exactly that. We DON'T FEEL LIKE IT.
What to do?
JUST START. The smallest possible thing you can do. Put on shoes. Step outside.
Roll out the yoga mat. Commit to 10 minutes of anything at all.
See what happens.
Once we start, how we feel changes. So, maybe you only do 10 minutes of yoga.
Maybe you go for a 10-minute walk.
Maybe you decide to keep going.
Either way, you started, You moved 10 more minutes and that is a start.
Next up, let's work through what might suck the energy out of you and what might generate more energy. Then you can choose what matters more.
